The best time of the year is finally here! With fall in full effect, we can’t help but prepare for the holiday’s as we finish up the year. Meridian has the perfect lineup of events to get us in the festive mood we’ve been waiting for!
Kick fall off with spooky events at the Village of Meridian, visit a family friendly harvest festival, or join in the city’s Trunk-Or-Treat all days before Halloween. Transition from spooky to festive with a city tree lighting, holiday fun run, market, and a Children’s Winterland Festival.
Witches Night Out
Wednesday, October 16
Ever wonder how witches celebrate Halloween? Now is your chance to find out! Join us at the Village of Meridian as they partner with the Women’s and Children’s Alliance (WCA) for their annual Witches Night Out Fundraiser to support the WCA and National Domestic Violence Awareness Month! Hundreds of witches will gather for an evening of music, fun, and prizes while supporting a great cause. Family Fun Harvest Party
Spend the afternoon with the kids at this children’s harvest party! Held at the Children’s Museum of Idaho, the Family Fun Harvest Party will feature inflatables, face painting, and a free scavenger hunt with prizes on site. Parents, don’t worry, they also have fun things for you! Enjoy shopping from a great variety of vendors ranging from handmade gifts to yummy treats. Villains in the Village
Wednesday, October 23
Grab the kids and celebrate Halloween a little early with Villains in the Village! This spooky children’s event will be held at the Village of Meridian on both sides of the streets surrounding Fountain Square. Children of all ages are welcome to enjoy an evening of face painting, kids crafts, balloon twisters, and what ever may be lurking in the dark! Nationally Recognized Animal Expert and TV Personality Corbin Maxey will be featured at the event along with a theatrical performance of Villains in the Village with The Treasure Valley Children’s Theater! Bring out the costumes a few days early and head downtown for this fun pre-Halloween event! Downtown Meridian will be filled “other worlds” as more than 120 businesses gather to create a festival of costumes and treats! This annual free event will also be having a food court and game area this year for anyone who wants to pause and enjoy the parade of costumes! Meridian’s Trunk-Or-Treat will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, visit meridiancityspecialevents.org.
Christmas in Meridian
Take a stroll in downtown Meridian as the spirit of Christmas lights up the way! The 7th Annual Winter Lights Parade & Christmas Tree Lighting will take place in downtown Meridian on the evening of Friday, December 6. Start the night off with the Winter Lights Parade which will be en route Main Street, Carlton, and Second. The Parade will not only warm up the city with glowing lights, but will also help to keep your family warm with hot cocoa stations and a free ride in a horse-drawn carriage. Hint: to get the ride in the carriage come early and watch “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” at 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. and cheer on participants of the Candy Cane Fun Run. The Christmas Tree Lighting will take place in the Generation Plaza at Main and Idaho. After the eventful night, local businesses and the community will host a variety of festive events perfect to celebrate the season as a family! Are you ready to run (or walk!) to the North Pole?! Spend the evening running to the North Pole in your favorite holiday costume or ugly sweater! The silly run will be leading the Winter Lights Parade down Main Street at 6:25 p.m., but don’t worry, your $5 entry fee includes a festive light to ensure you won’t be running in the dark! Twilight Christmas Market

Running out of ideas on what to get your loved ones for Christmas? This unique indoor-outdoor holiday market is sure to have the perfect gift for anyone in your family! On December 11, from noon to 7 p.m., Meridian City Hall will be filled with vendors selling handmade gift items, seasonal foods, and holiday treats. You may have seen something similar to this Meridian market in the past, as Meridian City Hall has hosted a weekday Christmas bazaar featuring homemade items in the past, but this year is called to be the ultimate shopping experience as they’ve expanded the event to go both indoors and out, allowed food and beverage, holiday entertainment, and have extended the hours! Come on down and be ready to get festive in this ultimate Christmas Market!
Children’s Winterland Festival

Pause the last minute Christmas shopping and head down to the Boys & Girls Club in Meridian for this winter wonderland! The annual Children’s Winterland Festival will have your family caught up in Christmas as there will be a variety of Christmas themed activities! Take pictures with Santa, play Christmas themed games, decorate cookies, make ornaments and Christmas cards, write a letter to Santa, and so much more! With only 11 days till Christmas, this event is perfect to get the kids in the festive mood.
